Departure from Bratislava. Three-hour journey takes us to the North-Eastern part of Slovakia, passing Low Tatras National Park. En route we will also spot some of Slovak cultural and natural landmarks – castles, mountains and beautiful landscapes.
The Tatra Mountains region is a green natural playground with a charming variety of nature, history and attractions in a small, accessible, safe territory. This outdoor paradise offers pristine natural environment and maximum relaxation in the embrace of the mountains, waterfalls, alpine meadows and more than 100 lakes. The trails that crisscross the High Tatras are all well marked with distances and estimated times, so it is easy to choose route based on everyone´s fitness level and ambition. The High Tatras topped Lonely Planet’s Best in Europe list for 2019, which highlights the most exciting places to visit across the continent.
On the first day we will head straight to the High Tatras mountains where we will arrive in the afternoon. We will take a walk around the lake and take a rest before next day´s hike. Štrbské pleso is a picturesque mountain lake of glacial origin and a top tourist destination in the High Tatras. It is the second-largest glacial lake on the Slovak side of the High Tatras, with maximum depth 20 metres (66 ft).
You can go also to the lake Jamské pleso. In this hike, you will come to Jamské pleso from Štrbské pleso by the red marked tourist route leading up to the peak Kriváň. The lake is hidden in the forest; it has beautiful color and the atmosphere there is very peaceful. The hike to the lake takes approximately 1,5 hours and the terrain goes up and down regularly and moderately.
You will go to the most beautiful and the biggest lake in High Tatras.
We will start in the mountain village Štrbské Pleso and continue further up for approximately 3 hours to the largest (200 800 m2) and deepest (53,7m) mountain lake in the Slovak part of the High Tatras, Veľké Hincovo pleso.
At first, you’ll visit Popradské pleso with an amazingly looking lake and symbolic cemetery dedicated to victims of High Tatras. There are two mountain hotels near the lake, where we can rest for a while. From Popradské pleso, we will continue approximately for 2 hours to the biggest and the deepest mountain lake in High Tatras.
If weather permitted, from the lake Velké Hincovo pleso you can go further to Vyšné Kôprovské sedlo, and to the Kôprovský peak.
At 2367 meters (7765 ft), Kôprovský peak offers spectacular views over the High Tatra ridges and valleys. It is one of the easiest to access among the High Tatra peaks, and the trail leads through one of the most beautiful valleys in the whole mountain range.
Duration: approximately 6-8 hours
Route: Štrbské Pleso – Popradské pleso – Veľké Hincovo pleso – Kôprovský peak and back

Last hike before leaving High Tatras will take us to the waterfall Skok. Walking through the peaceful valley of Mlynická dolina gives us opportunity to admire majestic waterfall Skok with stunning views. We can continue up to fla valley terrace and see mountain lake and spectacular scenery.
In the period from June 15th to October 30th, we can continue higher along the moderately difficult route up to other mountain lakes, ending the hike in Bystré sedlo. We’ll see monumental peaks, such as Predné Solisko or Veľké Solisko, or the peak for mountain climbers called Satan (2422 m asl.).
