One of the most popular bicycle tours in Bratislava and its surroundings is the route along the Danube dike. This is the most frequently visited route. You can choose the length of your tour according to your cycling abilities. You can cross the Danube river by ferry and return to Bratislava along the other side of the river, or you can continue up to the town Gabčíkovo, easily cross to the other side of the Danube, and return to Bratislava. This tour is over 100 km.
If you are a recreational cyclist, you can just go to Čunovo to see the water sports complex, or visit the Museum of Modern Art, and then return to Bratislava.
Our tour starts under SNP bridge and continues along the asphalt bicycle track, which is the part of the Danube bicycle route which starts in Passau, passing through Vienna and Bratislava, and up to Budapest. Making our way along this asphalt bike route, we will arrive at the water sports complex in Cunovo (water course for rafting and canoe slalom), and then we will visit the Danubiana Museum of Modern Art.
After a break, we will continue our ride along the Danube to the village Vojka nad Dunajom, where we will take a ferry across the river. Subsequently, we will take the asphalt cycle track to return to Bratislava along the dike.
All in all, the trip is approximately 65 km. The difference between the lowest and highest point is just 5 meters.
Difficulty level: 2 out of 5. The difficulty level may be higher in case of windy weather.
