We’ll arrive to the High Tatras late afternoon.
Zelené pleso lake and Zamkovského hut
Today, we will go for a hike to Zelené pleso. The mountain cottage called Chata pri Zelenom plese and the lake Zelené pleso belong to the most beautiful places in Tatras. It is surrounded by the peaks called Kežmarský štít and Jastrabia veža.
From Zelené pleso hut we’ll continue to the Veľká Svišťovka peak (2038 m asl.) and then around Skalnaté pleso to the Zamkovského hut.

Two valleys Veľká Studená dolina – Malá Studená dolina

There, we will have a short break and refreshment to get ready for more difficult crossing through, so-called, Priečne sedlo (2352 m asl.). It is relatively difficult crossing through the rocky peak.
After Priečne sedlo crossing, we will enter the valley called Veľká studená dolina, and we’ll go up to the mountain cottage, Zbojnícka chata. Along the way, we can find approximately 10 mountain lakes.

It is relatively difficult hike leading around Zbojnícka chata through very famous and popular valley called Veľká Studená dolina. But we stayed at Zbojnícka chata hut over night, so, in the morning we’ll walk about 1,5 hours up to the saddle called sedlo Prielom, where we will be surrounded by massive peaks of Tatras. But we will continue to Polish ridge, and after another 1,5 hours we will get to Velické pleso and the mountain hotel Sliezský dom.

In the period from June 15th to October 30th, we can continue higher along the moderately difficult route up to other mountain lakes, ending the hike in Bystré sedlo. On the sideview, we will see monumental peaks, such as Predné Solisko or Veľké Solisko, or the peak for mountain climbers called Satan (2422 m asl.).

Route: Štrbské pleso – Skok waterfall – Bystré sedlo and back: approximately 8 hours
Bike: The valley Kôprová dolina
At first, we need to cross the wooden bridge over the river Belá, which is created by the connection of two streams – Tichý and Kôprovský potok.
At one place, the route divides toward the Tichá dolina and Kôprová dolina. We will walk by the green marked tourist route up to the crossway Pod Grúnikom, where the tourist route changes to the blue one. Then, we need to overcome the 325 m of ascent on more than eight kilometers (8,6 km). The ascent is moderate and easy; the route leads by good-quality asphalt, so it is suitable also for bicycles for transporting the children, and possibly you can see there also parents with baby carriages.
The bicycle route ends by the Kmeťov vodopád – the highest waterfall in High Tatras with the height of 80 meters. We will leave our bikes at this place.
The valley Kôprová dolina
Kôprová dolina is 12 kilometers long and lies on the border of High and West Tatras. It has many side valleys providing the burrows and food for many kinds of animals (brown bear, lynx, wild wolf, eagle, etc.) and suitable biotopes for the unique and protected kinds of plants. This is the place, where bears really live! If you were at this place early in the morning or late in the evening, it is highly probable that you will meet at least one of them.
From the waterfall Kmeťov vodopád, we will continue along the blue marked tourist route and slowly go up the valley. The terrain will be gradually more and more difficult. Our goal – Nižné Temnosmrečinské pleso – is very close. Here, we can see an amazing view on the Kôprovský štít and surrounding peaks. The return route is the same.
