If you like winter and you don’t mind spending the whole day in the cold valley without sunny beams this is the right activity for you. Ski hiking is the best choice for adventurous hiking during the winter and you will have the opportunity to experience stunning views on surrounding mountains, and on your way down you will have a chance to ski as well. You will get to the magical winter nature and long skiing ways down in snowy but free landscapes are waiting just for you. In Slovakian Tatras are many choices where to go ski hiking during winter.
There are some conditions for ski hiking that you must accept:
In Hight Tatras you can choose these valleys:
“Veľká studená dolina (Big cold valley)” – beginning at “Zbojnicka chata“ through „kotol Sivých plies“ to „Priečne sedlo“ from where you continue to the „Téryho chata” in “Small cold valley”
“Malá studená dolina (Small cold valley)” – here you go under „Mačacia veža“ to the „Baranie sedlo“ and in the end to the “Big iced valley”
“Veľká zmrznutá dolina (Big iced valley)” – at this point you continue to the „Chata pri Zelenom plese“
“Mlynická dolina (Mlynicka valley)” – from waterfall “Skok” to the “Soliskové sedlo” and here you can choose if you go back or go skiing from cottage “Solisko”
In Low Tatras you can go from “Derešov”, through “Chopok” to the “Ďumbier”.
In West Tatras it is only area of “Žiarska valley” where are “Veľké Závraty” and “Malé Závraty” and starting point is “Žiarska chata” .
